This is my wife, Laurel Summerfield. The picture was taken on the west coast of Ireland in 1987. Her mother took her and her sister on a four-day shopping trip. Laurel called me collect in the middle of the day to ask if she could buy a $500 Waterford lamp. I have no idea where the lamp is now. Sic transit Waterford mundi. Update -- Laurel informs me that the lamp is safely
packed away in the downstairs bathroom closet "until the kids go off to
college." It was never lost, and she still loves it. Cloth Monkey regrets the
error. Further update: The lamp is gone. We were offered $400 for
it, and the bills were due. Such is life.
